    Hi Rog,

Happy belated B-day!! This was also quite informative. I would really like to figure out how to get the family to eat that much veggie meals. Or I have no problem myself and continue to incorporate the vegs into the boys food.

Also a Howdy to Rog and Marcia. I am still at a loss as to which water filter to purchase.

Im ready to hear more info from ya. Keep up the great work!!!

I crave animal protein such as turkey and chicken and sometimes beef. Do you have any supplements that might help with these cravings?

Also, can you review oils and which to cook with? I have heard that certain oils, even olive oil should not be heated.

  9. Roger says:

    Hey Lisa,
It’s probably not meat you crave but protein and maybe you’re becoming blood deficient. Meat is harder to digest than most vegetarian protein so you also get hungry much sooner than with meat. Also, when you start eating vegetarian you don’t realize that you may not be eating as many calories as before. Red meat does help to build blood so if you’re not consuming it increase your steamed greens and you’ll feel better. In macrobiotics shiitake mushroom is used to detox from meat. It also tastes like beef and makes an amazing gravy which satisfies that carnivorous craving for heavy meaty tasting food.

The best oils to use are EV olive, organic coconut, and high lignan flax. It’s true that any cooking hurts the nutritional qualities but we do have to cook certain foods. In that case use low tempuratures and makes sure most of the oil you consume is not cooked. Pouring olive oil on salads, veggies, and rice is the best way to consume it. Flax works well too.
Try putting 3 large sprigs of fresh rosemary in a bottle of olive oil and put it away for 6 weeks before using. The taste is to die for and I usually buy 6 bottles at a time just to do this. Then I have a steady supply.
    Be well.

    Hi Roger,

Thoroughly enjoyed this because it is down to earth and something we can all understand. Very informative about what may cause the body to create more cholesterol, for cellular repair. Plus, this won’t scare away my friends who think that eating healthy means food that tastes bad, is always raw and green, and can’t be consumed in a restaurant!

My stepmother turned me on to you. I would like to know more about portion sizes for fruits and vegetables. Would like to know about subscribing to your newsletter.

    thanx,

    JOHN
