Heart Vibrance

Wow! The response has been amazing and I’m glad so many of you have found it to be valuable.

A large number of you have asked about heart health and specifically nutritional alternatives to statin drugs.  I can understand your concerns with all of the side effects and dangers of pharmaceutical drugs.  You’re in luck because all issues of heart disease and high cholesterol are related to nutritional deficiencies.

Cholesterol Is NOT Bad For You

High cholesterol (HC) is actually a symptom and not a disease.  In fact cholesterol is not actually bad for you.  It’s produced in relation to the amount of need for it in the body.  One of it’s main uses is to repair cellular membranes that have been damaged by oxidative stress.

If your diet is nutritionally deficient in basic trace minerals, dark fruits and green vegetables then you’ll be lacking in protective nutrients and experience a need for more cholesterol.  So idealy when you eat a plant based diet your cells are healthier and your body’s need for repair lessens and the need for cholesterol goes down.

The same diet helps keep your liver in working order and when the liver is healthy and doing it’s job it can handle the cholesterol in your diet quite easily.  The first step is always food—especially plant based nutrition.  Eating several serving of leafy greens and antioxidant fruit will provide the foundation for everything.

I’ve seen great results with the use of gynostemma and also mushrooms.  The beta glucans in mushrooms have a strong regulating effect on cholesterol and also help clean and regulate the liver.  Add a little exercise, keep hydrated and you should see results soon.

Remember, YOU are in control.

I will be creating detailed content on this topic, so please post your comments and questions below so I can specifically answer them in future content.

    Thank you Roger –
You are invaluable to the average person – you make it very easy for me to understand what needs to be done as opposed to some doctor wanting to give me a pill and not caring about any underlying issues. I want to thank you for all your efforts in putting this blog together. I would like know what specific vitamins or minerals I would need to keep cholesterol in check.

Roger-My cholesterol is somewhat high, but my Triglycerides are over 400! Right now, I’m taking about 3-4 doses of Ciaga, five or six of Greenzymes, and about 12 Immunity. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Penny Presser

    Hey John,
Thanks for the comment. As always, start with your diet first before targeting supplements. Increase your level of green foods and reduce sugar and empty calories and your liver will thank you by regulating your cholesterol. Then when you add supplements they will work better.

    Hey Penny,
Lower your sugar intake and try some omega 3 (DHA). Your on the right track. Add some green food to your diet. Greens help the liver work and over time you’ll have better control on cholesterol and triglycerides.

    Hello Roger,
I understand that diet is very important in lowering cholesterol, but is diet enough for those with familial hyperlipedimia. Cholesterol in the 500 and above. I read a lot about how bad these statin drugs are but almost all medical research show the reduction of the incidence of heart attacks with these drugs. I know they have side effects, like any other drugs but there are a lot of people who do not get side effects from them. Do we just tell tell not to take the drugs? Thank you.

  6. Roger says:

    Hey Edwin,
Good points. You have to really look at the research. That huge reduction of 33% they talk about actually works out to less than 1 person per 100(read the fine print in the ads). You can get the same effect by adding a few vegetables daily. Only a few of the side effects are noticeable right away, the rest are residual. I’m not totally against the use of drugs—just the indiscriminate use of them for things that are easily handled by lifestyle changes. Certain people need them—you being one of them—and you should do so. But you should also know that they have adverse effects and adjust your diet and supplements appropriately. Ubiquinol (CoQ10) will protect you from the weakening of heart muscle and and together with Ester C and a diet rich in greens and antioxidant fruit you’ll keep your brain protected as well. Most people accept the drugs as all they have to do when it’s usually just the beginning. Don’t fall into that trap. Be well.

    Hi Roger,
I seen your presentation on Saturday in Lexington, KY. Thank you! Know I understand better I do have choices! SO here is the deal Age 44, Cholest 150ish, HDL 44. Currently on Zocor and generic plaviz(generic). SO today I bought Omega3(Nortic) and Ubiquinol (ActivlifeQ10). Next I am looking to get Jade Barleygrass suppliment (Nikken) and increase my greens intake primarially with salad intake with Italian or vingerette dressing. I am not a big greens eater and I am going to take this a step at a time. I am open to your suggestings and interested in your response. Your new friend, Vince
