There is someone very near and dear to me that has been told she has "hardening of the arteries..cholesterol buildup.
The doctor has prescribed a statin drug (zocor) for her.
What herbs or alternatives might be helpful?
If you have a entries on your blog that already speak to this could you direct us to those?
I am a Nikken Wellness Consultant and a believer in the Immunity product as well as all of the Whole Foods nutritionals. Your immunity formulation, and the history of your work with that with the Chinese Universities, etc., is powerful. Shirley C

Roger,

This was a very touching blog. Thank you for being so open and sharing from your Heart, Roger!

Your incite on the lungs harboring grief struck a chord with me. (This describes my mother to a "T".) It seems to me that many people do not get this . . . that their physical body ultimately manifests in ill health all the negativity they hold onto in life when they refuse to "move on" and forgive those that have hurt them. The body harbors this poison and suffers for it in the end. How sad.

I am, meanwhile, relaxing on vacation with my husband right now, looking out on the Atlantic Ocean and feeling a great sense of peace, joy, and tranquility :-). My body is thanking me!

Hey Margaret,
Thanks. The first step to dealing with any health issue is recognizing you have one, so you're on your way. When I started learning about herbs and got healthier I processed a lot of grief. My lungs were always weak and in Chinese Medicine a person stores grief in their lungs. As my lungs got stronger I experience a lot of crying dreams in which I would relive past emotional trauma and wake up soaking wet from crying. I might have been all wet but it felt really good.
Don't forget to do some exercise program that makes you breath hard as it will strengthen the lungs and maybe help you move through some of your issues. Exercise helps on so many levels but everyone only associates it with the physical effects. Do things that bring you joy as the Heart center energizes the lungs and that can speed up the process. Be well.

That is a beautiful and powerful article. I see much truth there and I'm trying to see how to apply it for myself. I have struggles like all of us, I feel I need to learn to process the grief and let it go through me like you said. And more important learn and rejoice in the opportunities of the now.

How are you? Thanks for this blog. Can you e-mail me the list you read on chemicals that hide MSG? Thanks. Hope to get you back up here in VT this summer. Mary Ann
