Brain Function

Boost Your Mental Energy

Your brain needs good nutrition to function well.  Make sure you’re giving it what it needs to perform at it’s best.

It would be hard to find a better reason for eating well than promoting brain health.  If you develop any of the other chronic debilitating diseases it might be painful and inconvenient but at least you’re still conscious and able to relate to life.

Lose Your Brain and You Lose Everything.

The prevention of dementia, Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s shouldn’t be you’re only inspiration for eating well.  Feeding your brain what it needs to perform has an immediate effect on every level of your health and often determines how you handle stress.

Nutrients in your breakfast will determine whether you crave certain foods, pay attention at work or understand complex problems – there’s a huge difference  between a protein shake and a jelly doughnut.

Start Your Day Right

Start the day right and you’ll power up and cruise through it……..eat poorly and you’re set up for failure.

Your brain needs certain amino acids, nutrients, and fatty acids for basic maintenance.  Without them brain activity diminishes and long term deficiencies can lead to dysfunction similar to atrophy in the brain.  Because most of these substances double as antioxidants you’re also susceptible to oxidative stress and the spread of inflammation throughout the brain.

Add this to all of the environmental chemicals that make it into your brain and the damage accelerates.  Excessive stress hormone makes it all worse and adds to the inflammation.

The best diet for brain health is based on nutrient dense plant foods, proteins and essential fats.

Avoid anything artificial of chemically enhanced and read my article on stress and brain health.
