Emotional Stress

“Let’s Talk Emotional Stress”

So what exactly is this beast we call stress? How does it influence so much of our lives?

Stress is one of those subjects everyone seems to identify with but doesn’t really understand.   We all think that it’s just our reaction to the world around us and when it becomes too much we get tense and upset.  This is all true but it’s actually much more complicated.

Yes, we all have deadlines and relationships and commitments that bog us down.  The mere act of “keeping up” builds our own personal stress level until you literally tense up and get ready to explode.

All of this tension disrupts the function of your internal organs and glands and plays havoc with your ability to make and use energy.

All of this personal stress causes an overload and eventually depletes your “Life Force“.  Constant emotional stress turns on your adrenals and you pump out stress hormone way beyond the your body’s need for it.

The best way to describe this is taking a look at how your car runs. All cars have an idling speed, meaning when it’s sitting still in traffic or warming up in the driveway, it is set to run at a very low RPM to conserve gas.  Your body is the same.   When nothing is really going on, it just relaxes into a nice even heart rate and conserves energy.

fast idleStress Changes Everything

Imagine taking the idle setting on your car and cranking it to 60 mph. As it warms up in the driveway or sits at a stop signs at 60 mph it burns an inappropriate amount of fuel.   This puts added stress on your engine and wastes a lot of fuel doing nothing.

Your body reacts the same way.  Emotional stress is like turning up the idle on your car.

… your heart beats faster.

… blood flow is increased throughout your body.

… stored glycogen is released so your muscles have the added fuel for fight or flight.

The only problem is that you’re probably sitting at your desk.  Just like the car, you’re wasting energy and it’s putting added physical stress on your body.

It Gets Even Worse

Once this goes on for awhile you lock yourself into CSS (Chronic Stress Syndrome), and it’s really hard to get out.  CSS means you go from one stressor to another without the adequate time to reset your internal response and now the body is locked into stress.  The feedback mechanism fails and you are constantly flooding the body with excessive stress hormone.

I’m sure you’ve seen all the ads that offer relief.  Meditation CD’s…exercise DVD’s…antidepressants.  Sure they help.  But they don’t go to the source of the problem……your body’s failure to regulate its own stress response.

This can easily be regulated with consistent use of adaptogenic herbs.

Not very many people know about adaptogenic herbs or how they feed your own internal system of regulation, homeostasis, so that you can have the proper response to stress and recover from it.

Are You Aging Prematurely?

Few know how they can reduce stress hormone so it doesn’t prematurely age you or destroy your brain.

Adaptogenic herbs can help reduce inflammation that has been related to most chronic illnesses including diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and any other nasty thing you can think of.

There are tons of health products out there and a lot of them are good for you.  The problem is that few get to the root of the problem—chronic stress response and how it ruins your energy and your health.

Unless you deal with the root of the problem you’ll always be dealing with symptoms and never getting anywhere.

It only makes sense that build REAL Energy you have to stop losing it to stress and rebuild your system.

Luckily for me I got to see first hand how adaptogenic herbs can literally change a person life by helping you get a handle on stress and build energy.  I’ve been working with adaptogens for over 18 years and I’m excited to share this information with you.

You truly can help the body heal from chronic stress and regain your vitality at the same time.
